Work/Life balance at work: practical recommendations
Does this sound familiar? Here's what to do about it ⬇️
There are effective methods to help prevent the trap called "burnout"
Some statistics from Ukrainian research:
❗️87% of Ukrainians in 2024 found themselves in at least one stressful situation, only 10% did not experience stress. (Source: life.pravda.com.ua)
❗️39% of workers in the labor market experience symptoms of burnout. (Source: 7eminar.ua)
What can you incorporate into your daily lifestyle?
✅ Regular breaks and rest during the working day help to restore energy and increase productivity. These can even be short pauses of 15-20 minutes.
✅ Physical activity. For example, short workouts in the workplace increase productivity and creativity.
✅ Maintaining mental health. Seeing a psychologist, meditation, and mindfulness practices can help reduce stress levels.
✅ Flexible work schedules allow for a work-life balance that reduces the risk of burnout.
Practical methods of combating burnout:
1️⃣ The 90-30-90 method
90 minutes of intensive work - 30 minutes of rest - 90 minutes of work.
The brain works according to biological cycles of performance (ultradian rhythms), so this approach helps to avoid overload.
2️⃣ The "3 things to do a day" rule
Every morning, identify three main tasks for the day - no more. This reduces the feeling of being overwhelmed and increases your satisfaction with the work you do.
3️⃣ "Detox" from news and social media
Turn off the news and social media for at least 2 hours a day or use the "silent mode" on your phone after 8 p.m. The constant flow of information drains the nervous system.
4️⃣ Walking without gadgets
15 minutes in nature without your phone helps your brain reboot, reduce cortisol levels, and improve concentration. Do this at least 3-4 times a week.
5️⃣ The 5 Pleasures Method
Ask yourself every day: "What pleasant things will I do today?". Include 5 small joys that bring you pleasure in your daily plan. This is a great way to maintain emotional balance.
And remember: your health is the most valuable resource.
